I have recently attached myself to a, let's say left field, celebrity by the name of Kelly Osbourne. Yes the same one that is the daughter of Sharon and Ozzy. I say left field because she is not an A typical hollywood glamour girl. She is not famous for a specific profession, she had a stunt as a singer for a moment but it never took off as a career. Good single though (Papa Don't Preach (Madonna cover). And then there was The Osbourne Show in which she did nothing but eat and go through crazy hair and cussing phases. She was addicted to drugs and had frequent up and down weight issues. She was here and there as a presenter or host of some series. Doing the regular rounds of a C List Celebrity. Then she disappeared after failed albums, shows, etc. After hiding for a bit she popped up as Mama Matron/ Roxy Hart occasionally in the UK revival of Chicago. Performing daily and wowing people with how much better she getting she started to slowly climb the ladder of relativity again. With much scrutiny over her weight loss she was forced to announce that she had binging and purging problems. She became slightly heavy again settling for a "comfortable" weight. It was all about her weight with every effin magazine...
Then she got a great US gig. Sort of the make or break celebrity show Dancing with the Stars. As a contestant she wasn't expected to go far. Of course being the resilient force that she is, she pushed on and got as far as 3rd place. Amazing the judges and capturing a busload of America's hearts, she became household and the dark horse. She also started losing weight and getting a healthier figure for herself this go around. Proving that dance and drive are excellent ways to drive away just being "comfortable". Happy with her life and new physique she began to do a better celebrity circuit and continued to stay in the light. Becoming a semi-fashion icon in her own right, people such as myself, started seeing the beauty she was. A gorgeous girl trapped within being "okay" with the hand dealt to her. Growing up allowed her to break free of that and finally appear everywhere as a staple of fashion (and never a fashion no-no furthermore) a natural look, and a rockin body! She has poise now and lady-like manners which she is HAPPY with. This is her. Despite losing a model boyfriend (he was okay looking in my opinion) she still is going on to do shows, has her own radio station on the BBC network, and covering every magazine known. If you listen to a few classic gems in her day (One Word- Chris Cox edit is still one of the most amazing dance songs I've heard) you can see she also still has a very promising recording career on hold for her. I salute you Kelly Oz. A woman who started shaky but with her own spin on what happiness and comfortability is, she has risen above many of the celebs that just settle. She is a role-model and a MODEL!
A Perfect song by new coming artist Jessie J (also listen to Do It Like A Dude) this is Who You Are. An amazing song! The words are so TRUE!
